A Very good Morning and selamat datang di Surabaya. Indonesia

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to specially thank B apak Imam Oetomo. Governor of East Java Province for honouring us with his presence today and for consenting to ofGroially declare this 2nd Symposium of The International Network of Affiliated Port (INAP), open.

I would also like to bid a wann welcome to all our honoured guests, especially the Governor of Kochi Prefecture Japan, all Heads of Delegation from the various member of INAP. A11 delegates and observers of this symposium.

Allow me to say how delight and proud we to host this 2nd INAP symposium; and we share this honour with our colleague and friends in Port of Tanjung Perak, such as stevedoring companies, forwarders, exporters, importers and others, by invited them to participate in conducting this symposium and we all have committed to present the best for all delegates ofthis 2nd INAP Symposium.

The Symposium itself could be the ideal forum to discuss the newest issues, which could encourage the co-operation and capability of port among the INAP Members to anticipate the 21st century, which about 28 days a head. I do hope that all the delegates and participants could take this opportunity to have the fruitful discussion to achieve some implementable results, which finally could improve the trade and economic growih in the countries where the INAP Members is located.

It is also important for this Symposium to think of additional value for all members such as the co-operation to develop the port management, information Technology and training programs, which could improve the knowledge and ability of the people involved in the port business.
